Mobile Shorebased Courses
Marine Radio Short Range Certificate (VHF Radio)

This is the new qualification for users of VHF radio, and includes the procedures of the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) including Digital Selective Calling (DSC).

Available as a full course, or as a half-day upgrade for holders of old-style VHF licences.

Duration: 1 day including exam
Pre-Course experience : None
Assumed Knowledge: None
Course content: Use of marine radios including GMDSS. Routine, distress, urgency and safety procedures.
Ability after course Can use a marine VHF radio.
