Scottish Canals Reopen at the end of March
The Scottish Lowland Canals reopen, after their winter shutdown, on 6th March 2009. This means that you can book an Inland Waterway's Helmsman Course for any time after this date.

Practical courses run every month, and dates can be arranged on-demand and often at short notice.

Aim: To provide the knowledge and techniques for the safe and responsible handling of craft on the UK's and Europe's network of canals and rivers. The course is designed for both novices and experienced boaters wanting to cruise inland waterways and unravels the mysteries of locks bridges and tunnels as well as basic boat handling.
