Pat’s experience and qualifications are impressive. He served his apprenticeship in the Merchant Navy with Ellerman Lines, and rose through the ranks with them. He has served as a Deck Officer with different companies, including First Officer on the paddle steamer “Waverley”, and recently as Master of the “Rose of Lorne”

He has also served his time as a motor mechanic, and was a partner in a garage business for several years before being appointed Coxswain/Mechanic for the RNLI station at Oban – where his skills were recognised with several awards, culminating in the M.B.E.

Pat runs RYA Diesel Engine and Radar courses.
