Jon is a Powerboat Trainer and Yachtmaster Instructor. His experience with the sea is wide and varied. He has sailed the Atlantic three times and has worked large charter yachts in the U.K, the Mediterranean, and the Caribbean.

He has also led a holiday flotilla in the West Indies with a 70' motor yacht and worked on a large commercial fishing vessel.

He was Director of Water Activities for Outward Bound® Wales and has gained a vast amount of experience through his many years in RNLI Lifeboats. This included a period as helmsman on an Atlantic 21 (a 21' Rigid Inflatable Boat) based in North Wales.

Jon is a qualified teacher who has taught at school and university level.
