Duggie continues his winning streak and Tim qualifies for Superyachts
Well, he's done it again.
Duggie Gillespie, skippering "New York" has scored the fifth victory of their Clipper 07-08 Round the World Yacht Race campaign to consolidate their overall lead in the competition. The yacht crossed the finish line at Crosshaven, Co.Cork, Ireland at 1159 local time (1059 GMT) today at the end of the 2,080-mile race across the North Atlantic from Nova Scotia, Canada. We are looking forward to welcoming Duggie back to the UK shortly.
Meanwhile, Instructor Tim has completed another round of intensive training and now has the full suite of STCW (Standards of Training and Certification in Watchkeeping) to qualify him to work on superyachts.
Congratulations Tim

Another new Trainer/Centre and another win for Duggie
We welcome Chris Floyd to the Seaskills team. Chris is hugely experienced with an extensive CV in outdoor activities including Powerboat Trainer and Dinghy Coach/Assessor. Chris will be Chief Instructor at a new site at Ardfern which will be associated with SeaSkills Oban. Chris is highly respected in the RYA and will be another great asset in the SeaSkills line-up
Duggie Gillespie has brought “New York” in to her sponsor city of New York at the head of the Clipper Round the World fleet to notch up another fantastic result. Since taking over as skipper in Salvador after the first leg he has moved steadily up the fleet with an impressive series of results and now stands well placed to challenge for the overall lead on the race back across the Atlantic.

Cariad enters Service and Duggie's Still Racing
We welcome “Cariad” to the SeaSkills fleet. Our new Ribcraft 5.85 has entered service and is proving to be a great asset. Side-by-side seating for the instructor and trainee with a console full of electronic goodies is proving to be a real winner.
Duggie is still up with the leaders in the next leg of the Clipper round-the-world race, and looks strongly placed for yet another podium position. We are planning on a dinner when he gets back with a chance for everyone to come along and hear about his race, with any money raised going to the RNLI. Watch this space for more details.

Duggie Does it Again!
Congratulations to our Offshore Safety instructor Duggie on another podium finish in the Clipper Round the World Race – second place on the leg from Qindao to Hawaii. We are sure that everyone who has been on a course with Duggie as their instructor will be delighted to see his continuing success in the race, and we look forward to his return to the UK to tell us all about it.
New Largs Base - Update
We’ve passed the inspection to set up our new SeaSkills base at Largs Marina, where we will be offering motor-cruising courses (Helmsman, Day Skipper, Coastal Skipper, and preparation for Yachtmaster exams). There are at least ten RYA Training Centres operating out of Largs, but SeaSkills is the only one offering motor-cruising. We look forward to welcoming our clients on board at this fantastic marina, which provides us with a great training area and cruising grounds to explore the Clyde
